But when you read the passage slowly, paying attention to what Jesus actually says word by word, something entirely different emerges. This is not a threat passage. It is an unveiling passage.

Condemnation is not a verdict God introduces in response to failure. It is the tragic condition of remaining in darkness when light has come. The tragedy is not God rejecting people. It is people resisting love because they do not yet believe love is safe.
