Many people who love God deeply, who pray and worship and genuinely desire to walk closely with Him, find that allowing themselves to be fully seen does not always become easier over time. In fact, the closer they draw, the more exposed they feel. That discomfort is often interpreted as failure. As distance. As evidence that something has gone wrong.

But often, it is simply evidence that closeness has deepened.

This four-week teaching series moves through three of the most common tensions in the inner journey of faith, using the life of David as a map rather than a model. David does not teach us how to get it right. He teaches us how to stay. Week one explores what it means to allow yourself to be seen by God, and why exposure increases rather than decreases as intimacy grows. Week two examines learning to trust in the middle of the mess, asking what happens when fear is still present and the outcome is still unknown. Week three looks at wisdom that knows how to approach, tracing what the account of David and the ark reveals about the difference between sincerity and alignment. Week four steps into the hardest territory of all: trusting God when the outcome brings grief.

The governing reality of this series: David's life is not primarily a story about success or failure. It is a story about a man who remained present with God through fear, failure, confusion, and consequence. Not by having the right answers. Not by reaching emotional calm before coming close. But by staying.

This is not a series about doing more. It is an invitation to remain.
